MoviePass, Fandor partner on $90-a-year subscription service for Costco members

MoviePass and streaming service Fandor are teaming up to offer Costco customers a new service that will allow members to see as many movies as they want in theaters and unlimited access to Fandor's library for a flat yearly fee of $89.99.

The offer will be available for one week, beginning Dec. 12. The one-time payment of $89.99 covers a year of membership for both Fandor and MoviePass.

Fandor's library of 5,000 titles includes independent films, documentaries, international features and shorts.

In August, MoviePass introduced its new $9.95 subscription plan allowing members to make unlimited trips to the cinema, with MoviePass paying the difference to theater owners. MoviePass — which previously offered a $50 monthly plan — says it now has more than 600,000 subscribers.

“MoviePass is ultimately about celebrating our love of movies, whether you stream them at home or experience them on the big screen," MoviePass CEO Mitch Lowe said in a statement.
