2 major retailers offering great cyber deals all week long

Cyber Monday is upon us, but don’t fret if you miss it: You still have the rest of the week to score great deals.

Black Friday has not really been a single day in years. It’s an entire season of sales. And just as those sales didn’t end after Black Friday, they won’t cease after Cyber Monday.

Case in point: Two of Americans’ favorite retailers, Amazon and Target, are offering noteworthy deals all week long.

The e-commerce giant says you can “discover new deals every day throughout Cyber Monday Deals Week.” Amazon’s official announcement about these deals includes a lengthy list of discounts on everything from Amazon devices and other electronics to home goods and sporting goods. But it doesn’t specify which deals will be available when.

So, check Amazon’s site often, particularly the “Cyber Monday Deals Week” webpage.

I also discovered and took advantage of a nice offer hidden on Amazon’s books webpage: $5 off a $20 purchase of print books with promo code GIFTBOOK17. According to the fine print, the offer expires at 11:59 p.m. PT Monday (2:59 a.m. ET Tuesday).

Another noteworthy deal is available until 11:59 p.m. PT Dec. 2 (2:59 a.m. ET Dec. 3): Get two free personalized photo books or calendars with the purchase of one photo book or calendar from Amazon Prints. Use promo code 2FREE.

6 rules to follow when shopping online
1. Make sure that the website you are ordering from is secure
"Many websites will have a seal at the bottom stating that the website is indeed secure and will not make your information public under any circumstances. A site that has 'https://' at the beginning of their web address as well as a padlock symbol is typically a site to trust." -My Broken Coin
2. Search for product reviews beforehand
"Returning items to online stores can be a major hassle. So why not find out what others think of the product before you purchase it online? For example, before buying a new laptop, search for comments and complaints associated with the brand. If there are more negative reviews than positive, and the same problem is reoccurring, then it may not be a brand worth investing in. This will save yourself from buying something that would have to be returned to the store soon after receipt." -My Broken Coin
3. Look for promo codes before checking out
"Who doesn't like saving money, especially on necessities? Almost every retailer will have some sort of promotion available, so ensure you look for one before purchasing. You may not find every code useful or relevant to your purchase, but there are plenty out there that could save you money. So, before you check out ensure you search your retailer for voucher codes and see how much you could save." -My Broken Coin
5. Check and double check your shopping cart
"When shopping online, it's incredibly easy to get side-tracked and accidentally add things into your shopping cart. For example, you may double click on an item and not notice that you've order two of it until it's too late. As well as this, if you've visited a site before but abandoned your cart before purchasing, the site will sometimes have saved your items when you visit again. Thus, it's incredibly important that you double check what you're buying." -My Broken Coin
6. Track your order
"Many sites give you the option to track you orders. This is especially handy when you need your order by a specific date (before Christmas, in time for a birthday party, etc.). Stay on-top of your order's location at all times, including the cities that it is arriving in and departing from every day. A lot of online trackers go through FedEx or UPS and are typically very accurate." -My Broken Coin
4. Price-match whenever possible
"Price-matching and price-comparison is the one of the best strategies for saving money while shopping online, as you will be able to purchase items that you otherwise would not have been able to afford. Retailers are in constant competition with each other to offer the best price and product to customers, so find the one that's offering the best deal." -My Broken Coin

You’ll find great deals from other photo printing services, like Shutterfly and Mixbook, this time of year, too. But this offer from Amazon’s competitor service is the best I’ve ever seen anywhere for photo books or calendars.

This beloved big-box store chain has released a Cyber Week schedule. Its official Cyber Week announcement explains:

“New this year, we’ll offer digital daily deals across top gifting departments, including apparel, beauty, electronics and home.”

Here are the types of offers you’ll find on specific days:

  1. Monday: 15 percent off sitewide — yes, as in 15 percent off just about everything online
  2. Tuesday: 40 percent off bath and bedding
  3. Wednesday: Spend $30 on beauty and cosmetics products and get $10 off
  4. Thursday: 30 percent off boots and outerwear
  5. Friday: “Discounts across electronics”
  6. Saturday: 30 percent off furniture and rugs

I find that an easy way to quickly see Target’s best deals on any given day is to simply skip over to Target’s “Top Deals” webpage.

The retailer also notes that you should read its latest weekly ad, as Target will offer hundreds of other online offers all week. It says these include the lowest prices of the year on select:

  • Home décor
  • Kitchen appliances
  • Toys
  • Movies
  • Electronics

And remember, Target is one of the national retailers offering free shipping with no minimum purchase requirement for the holiday shopping season.
