Internet search trends can say a lot about society as a whole. And queries on job hunting websites, like indeed.com, can suggest a whole lot about the job market.

So what search phrase saw the biggest increase over the past year?

“No Experience Required,” saw the biggest growth in 2017 with a 1140 percent increase, overcoming searches for tech-related careers as well as jobs that allow people to work from home.

Though experts aren’t exactly sure why “no experience required” took the top spot for growth this year, site runners at indeed believe that national publicity about automation might be to blame.

And some say that those in industries affected by automation might just be hedging their bets against a robotic workforce.

What other job-related searches spiked in 2017? Searches related to hurricane relief increased 682 percent and marijuana related job searches grew 401 percent.

At the end of the day, people want to do what makes them happy.

And if you want to trade in your business suit and start pouring drinks… hopefully there is “no experience required.”
