A pair of Hitler’s underwear just sold for over $5K

There is no shortage of strange things that have gone up for auction over the years -- from Winston Churchill's dentures, to a reported jar of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s breath.

But few auction items are stranger than the pair of Adolf Hitler’s underwear that recently sold for $5,500, according to International Business Times.

The underwear was sold at Alexander Historical Auctions in Chesapeake City, Maryland to a private buyer.

It’s believed that the underwear, emblazoned with the initials A.H. were left at the luxury Parkhotel Graz in Austria in 1938.

The seller was the grandson of the hotel's owners at the time, according to The Sun.

The item description stated that the underwear were surprisingly large, with a 39-inch waist and were 19 inches long.

Auctioneer, Bill Panagopulos, says: "People tend to either buy fearsome Hitler memorabilia or things that make him look like a buffoon, such as this. To minimize a monster, you make people laugh at him.”
