Working at McDonald's this summer could entail more than asking, "Do you want fries with that?" The fast food chain said Monday it will hire 250,000 employees this season, a 9 percent increase from last year, and jobs will include waiting on tables and making deliveries.

What's more, McDonald's is trying new recruitment methods in the hopes of appealing to younger workers, as more than half of the new hires are expected to be between the ages of 16 and 24, according to the New York Post. On Tuesday, the company will roll out job advertisements on Snapchat, Spotify, and Hulu. On Snapchat, a series of 10-second ads will show employees talking about why they like their job at McDonald's and allow users to easily access the company's career website, according to CNN.
"As we see the younger generations seeking out their first jobs, we want to make them aware of the great opportunities available at McDonald's," Jez Langhorn, a human resources executive with McDonald's, said in a statement.

While burger flipping may be on the menu for some summer hires, other roles include bringing orders from the kitchen to a customer's table. The positions are temporary and run between June and August, a McDonald's spokesperson told CNN.
During the summer, 16- to 24-year-olds seek work while they are on school break. Last July, 23.1 million people in that age group were actively looking for a job or working, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
