United Airlines' PR team is hiring, not surprisingly

United Airlines made national headlines this week after viral video surfaced of a United passenger being forcibly dragged off a boarded flight to Louisville from Chicago. Public outcry as a result of the video has created a full-scale brand crisis, and it wasn't long before twitter hashtags like #NewUnitedMottos, #BoycottUnited, and even a trolled version of their own social campaign, #UnitedJourney, began to emerge.

And then, a collective face palm could be heard from public relations professionals everywhere when the United CEO Oscar Munoz publicly placed the blame on the passenger.

Needless to say, it's safe to assume that United Airlines public relations team is feeling the full ramifications of this event, and will likely be re-strategizing how to handle situations like this in the future. The good, not-at-all shocking news? There are currently three job openings in Houston, New Jersey, and California for a brand manager in the United public relations department.

In their defense, these job openings could have been posted before the incident, but at least it's a step in the right direction. Another silver lining for potential job applicants? Getting into a role like this, specifically at this crucial time, could give you a good opportunity to make an impact on the brand and help turn things around.
