Trump's Mar-a-Lago membership fee doubles

Updated

Donald Trump is cashing in on being the President of the United States.

The membership to President Trump's swanky Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida has been bumped up to $200,000, doubling its usual initiation fee of $100,00 according to CNBC.

The price hike took effect on January 1st after the election of Donald Trump.

It's no secret that being at the Mar-a-Lago club gives you a good chance of running into the President, especially since some are calling the Florida property his 'Winter White House.'

Trump has resigned as CEO of the Trump Organization, but still the price hike does worry some people who think this is just one example of how the presidency and Trump's business are mixing.

Similar to a tweet sent out by his newly opened International hotel in Washington that stated, "We are waiting for you Mr. President! Thank you!" or the fact that he updated his business bio to include his Presidency.

As if there's still anyone out there who is unaware he's now President.
