New LinkedIn tool will tell you if you're being paid enough

If you've been wondering whether you are being paid enough at your current job, LinkedIn wants to help you figure it out.

The company, which has over 460 million users, introduced a new service this week called LinkedIn Salary and it's already available for users in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.

Through analyzing data submitted anonymously by its members, such as details about base pay, bonuses and other types of compensation, the tool helps calculate how much those with the same job are being paid.

However, you must input your own salary information before you can see how your salary compares to others in your field. The company ensures that this information will remain private.

"We are excited to launch LinkedIn Salary to help professionals around the world make better career decisions and optimize their earning potential now and in the future," said LinkedIn product manager Ryan Sandler.
