It's spicy, smoky, crispy and so dang good that fans demanded it come back over various forms of social media – and the Colonel listened.

Hot Chicken originated in Nashville, Tennessee and has recently become popular across the country in fast-casual restaurants and food trucks.

KFC was the first fast-food restaurant to offer Hot Chicken as a menu item last January.

Not so coincidentally, Google searches for "Nashville Hot" had increased over 700 percent in January 2016.

The best selling location for KFC Hot Chicken was, naturally, a KFC in Nashville, Tennessee.

The return of Hot Chicken will also introduce a new variation – Hot Chicken will also be available as a Chicken Little Sandwich, aside from the standard chicken-on-the-bone and chicken tender versions of the dish.
