How this woman accidentally got free pizza for a year at Domino's

There's nothing better than a piping hot box of wings delivered to your doorstep when it's all that you're craving.

Some might say, however, that a box full of cash might be just a bit better. Say, roughly $5,000.

For Selena Avalos of San Jose, California, the decision to choose between the two was an accidental reality.

Upon receiving her order from Domino's, Avalos opened the box from the fast-food giant and was shocked to find a pile of cash instead of a pile of wings.

Avalos told NBC4:

"I was like, I can't keep it, it's a crazy amount of money. It's not like it's $20 you find, you know? It's almost $5,000."

Immediately, she called Domino's to inform them of the mix-up — but she wasn't able to get in touch with anyone from the store she ordered from.

Refusing to just leave the situation as it was, Avalos contacted ABC7 News to help her get in touch with someone at the store.

Luckily, the news channel was able to get into contact with Domino's corporate center and eventually the franchise owner of Avalos' local Domino's in San Jose.

Avalos' honesty did not go unnoticed – or unrewarded.

As a manager for Spacetel Wireless, she's receiving one paid week off from her employer.

And, better yet, she's been promised free pizza for a year from Domino's.

Aka, Selena Avalos is living the pizza-lover's dream.

Moral of the story?

Be a good person and life will reward you with free pizza.
