Mark Cuban says Trump not releasing his taxes is 'the smartest thing he's ever done'

Donald Trump's apparent reluctance to release his tax returns has become a matter of focus in the final stages of the presidential race.

According to businessman Mark Cuban, that may not be a bad thing for the GOP candidate.

Speaking with Business Insider on Monday, Cuban said, "The smartest thing he's ever done is not release them because he's created a talking point that just consumes more time so that he doesn't have to talk about anything of importance."

Notably, the Clinton campaign has made the issue central to many addresses, ads, and social media blasts.

Further, billionaire Reid Hoffman created quite a buzz when he said he would add up to $5 million to a crowfunding campaign simultaneously aimed at urging Trump to release the financial information and raising money for veteran organizations.
