Home prices rise less than expected

The Rise, the Fall, and the Trend of U.S. Housing

Home prices rose 0.2% month-over-month in May, less than expected, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Economists were expecting home prices to rise by 0.4%, according to the Bloomberg consensus.

The 0.2% uptick in April was revised up to 0.3%.

The FHFA added that seasonally adjusted monthly price changes from April 2016 to May 2016 ranged from+1.2% in the Mountain division to -1.3% in the New England division.Screen Shot 2016 07 21 at 9.04.01 AMFHFA
