Giant recalls some P.F. Chang's Home Menu products

Your dinner last night might have had a shiny surprise in it.

ConAgra Foods (ticker: CAG), is recalling more than 195,000 pounds of P.F. Chang's frozen dinners because shards of metal may be embedded in the product's sauce, the U.S. Department of Agriculture says.

The company initially recalled 3,806 pounds of products, though that number has now intensified by 191,791 pounds — reaching 195,597 pounds in total.

The recall does not impact food served at P.F. Chang's restaurants, a separate entity.

The full list of recalled products, made between May 31 and June 22, can be found on the website for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The products have either establishment number "EST. 233" or "EST. P-115."

So far, no one has been injured or has otherwise reacted negatively to eating these products, though those concerned are encouraged to seek medical attention. The company recommends throwing away the recalled products or returning them.

The food industry is no stranger to high-profile recalls, including those with metal pieces.

ConAgra stock was up slightly Monday morning, and has increased 14 percent this year. It recently reiterated plans to spin off its frozen potato business Lamb Weston into a separate company. This followed rumblings of Post Holdings (POST) having talks about merging with the segment, reports The Wall Street Journal.
