There was a time when if you really wanted to buy something you'd have to go the store's location and make a physical purchase. With the advancement of technology and the invention of the internet, however, purchasing items has been drastically simplified.

Now, if there's something special you have your eye on, all you have to do is go online, put it in your virtual shopping cart and click "buy."

As tempting as sites such as Amazon and eBay are with exclusive memberships which give you free shipping and priority on new items, there are still some purchases you should steer clear of.

It may come as a shock, but there are a few things you should either buy in person or, better yet, not at all.
