Microsoft Hits a Home Run With Office for Apple's iPad

If it seems as if Microsoft is making all the right moves lately, that's probably because it is. And its recent success in rolling out its Office productivity software for Apple's iPad is just another example of Microsoft's momentum.

After years of languishing and delaying in making some potentially challenging decisions, Microsoft seems to have hit its stride under the newfound leadership of rookie CEO Satya Nadella. In addition to launching Office on iPad, Microsoft has also made number of other major moves aimed at repositioning the software giant for more success in mobile.

And from the looks of it, Microsoft's moves appear to already be paying off.

Microsoft launched its Office for iPad on March 27, with many expecting big things between the two highly successful products. However, few expected the kind of success that the company apparently already seeing.

According to reports, Microsoft has already sold some 12 million copies of Office for iPad, ensuring millions of dollars for profits in the process. However, this could just be the start of other more important moves for Microsoft in the months ahead.
