Last year was a great one for dividend stock investors. Overall, the 30 components of the Dow paid out a cumulative $124 billion in dividends in 2013.  And the top three dividend payers alone, ExxonMobil , AT&T , and GE , sent a total of $28 billion to their shareholders over the course of the year.
