Is Netflix About to Lower Prices?
If you've signed up for one of Netflix's free trials recently, you may have noticed something a little out of the ordinary in the process.
Netflix currently has two plans available to everyone: For $7.99 per month, you can stream content on two screens simultaneously in either standard or high-definition. For $11.99, Netflix will let you use up to four devices at once.
But according to the Fool's Steve Symington in the video below, Netflix just confirmed that a small subset of new users are being given additional options of selecting plans for either $6.99 or $9.99 per month, enabling them to watch on either one or three screens, respectively.
On a broader basis, however, Steve thinks there are a number of reasons to doubt the $6.99 plan will ever really see the light of day.
Check out the following video to hear Steve's full take, then weigh in using the comments section below to let us know whether you think Netflix will be willing to offer a lower-tier streaming plan going forward.
