InterDigital Signs 4G Licensing Pact
InterDigital is about to raise its global profile following an international patent licensing deal. The company announced that it has entered an agreement with Spain-based Teltronic Unipersonal for the latter to license a set of its 4G technologies. The terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
In the press release heralding the news, InterDigital said Teltronic, which provides communications solutions to the public sector and selected industries, will "offer licensed 4G wireless solutions for the mission-critical radio communications equipment and systems it sells to its customers worldwide." The licensed technologies include LTE.
The deal should make a healthy contribution to InterDigital's results. In its most recently reported quarter, the company took in revenue of nearly $111 million and netted a profit of just under $27 million ($0.64 per diluted share).
