NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Western Asset Mortgage Defined Opportunity Fund Inc. (NYS: DMO) announced today its newly formulated portfolio management team from Western Asset Management Company ("WAM").

Effective as of October 1, 2013, Stephen A. Walsh and Greg E. Handler will be joined by Anup Agarwal and Benjamin L. Hunsaker as investment professionals of Western Asset Mortgage Defined Opportunity Fund Inc. Mr. Agarwal has 15 years of experience in securities analysis and investment management. From 2007-2013, Mr. Agarwal served as a portfolio manager and Head of Consumer Credit for Stark Investments, a global alternative investment firm. Mr. Agarwal has been employed by WAM as an investment professional since August 2013. Mr. Hunsaker has 9 years of experience in securities analysis and investment management. Mr. Hunsaker has served as an investment professional for WAM since 2008.
