AmeriGas Partners Increases Sales but Misses Revenue Estimate
AmeriGas Partners (NYS: APU) reported earnings on July 31. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at -$0.27. The eight earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted -$0.44 per share. Non-GAAP EPS were -$0.27 for Q3 compared to -$0.84 per share for the prior-year quarter. GAAP EPS were -$0.43 for Q3 versus -$1.00 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 47.4%, 580 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 1.1%, 690 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -5.9%, 970 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $586.7 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.47.
