(The prior-year quarter included -$0.01 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.) GAAP EPS of $2.96 for Q1 were 27% higher than the prior-year quarter's $2.33 per share. For the quarter, gross margin was 33.7%, 140 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 27.2%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 18.4%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $2.49 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $2.88.
