Daegis Receives ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Compliance Certification for Fourth Straight Year

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Daegis (NAS: DAEG) , a leading provider of eDiscovery solutions, announced today that it has received ISO/IEC 27001 re-certification for information security management. Daegis received initial certification in April 2009, and 2013 begins its fifth straight year of compliance, serving as a testament to Daegis' commitment to preserving the confidentiality, integrity and availability of its clients' information assets. Daegis is the only end-to-end eDiscovery provider to achieve ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

ISO 27001:2005 is an internationally recognized Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO/IEC 27001 standard extends beyond standard IT security and applies to every facet of the business including infrastructure, personnel and offices. The ISO/IEC standard specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and improving a documented Information Security Management System within the context of an organization's overall business risks.

"As the number of platforms on which data is created and stored continues to grow and diversify, information security is an increasingly significant challenge for corporations," said Doug Stewart, Vice President of Technology and Innovation at Daegis. "When choosing their vendors, corporations need an independent standard by which to evaluate the security surrounding their data and the ISO family of standards provides this evaluation framework."

In order to demonstrate ISO/IEC 27001 compliance, Daegis conducted a systematic review of the organization's information security risks. During the review, the company constructed and implemented a comprehensive set of information security policies, procedures and controls to address all areas of risk, and implemented a management protocol to ensure that information security policies will evolve to meet the needs of Daegis and its clients. The process also involved a rigorous external audit, which are conducted yearly to assure continued compliance.

In addition to satisfying the ISO/IEC certification requirements, Daegis demonstrates its commitment to information security best practices with innovative technology solutions and methodologies designed to limit risk as information moves throughout the eDiscovery lifecycle. The company's leading edge Cross-Matter Management methodology helps Daegis clients preserve the integrity of data by allowing clients to store all data in a secure, central repository for use in multiple matters. Likewise, Daegis Edge provides an end-to-end solution for eDiscovery, from collection and processing through to review, technology assisted review and production. Each phase meets the ISO/IEC 27001 standards for information security.
