Spectra Energy Declares Fresh Dividend

Spectra Energy is maintaining its dividend policy for the moment. The company has declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.305 per share paid, to be paid on Sept. 9 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 9. That amount matches each of the company's previous three payouts, the most recent of which was dispensed in June. Before that, Spectra Energy handed out $0.28 per share.

The company is a steady and reliable dividend payer. Since first declaring distributions in early 2007, it has paid them every quarter. These have ranged from $0.22 per share to the present level.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $1.22 per share. That yields 3.4% at Spectra Energy's most recent closing stock price of $35.43.
