Leah McSweeney didn't just make a splash on Bravo as the newest "Real Housewives of New York" cast member — she's also won praise for her TikTok presence during quarantine!
The Married to Mob founder has been recreating some iconic Bravo moments on her TikTok account, going viral with the hilariously on-point lip-sync moments that have pulled from "Real Housewives of New Jersey," "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and "Vanderpump Rules."
"I was in the Hamptons, and I was like, 'Let me just get on TikTok,' because my daughter's been telling me about TikTok. She lives on TikTok, and I'm like, 'I don't get it,'" Leah said during a recent interview with In The Know's Gibson Johns. "She shows them [to me], and I'd be like, 'What the hell is this?'"
Leah, who co-parents her daughter, Kier, with her ex, was initially intimidated by the popular dance routines that dominate TikTok but, when she realized there was much more to it than that, she went for it.
"I went on it, and I'm like, 'Oh, I don't have to learn these dances, because these are hard as hell. I can just do lip-syncing stuff,'" she laughed. "And I'm like, 'Well, why not do like a Bravo one? Because that'd be kind of funny.' And I'm a 'Housewives of New Jersey' fan. I mean, I've been very up front about all that. Teresa [Giudice] is my queen, OK?"
Naturally, then, the first Bravo-inspired TikTok that Leah shared with the world was a reenactment of a moment from season 9 of "RHONJ," which involved Margaret Josephs pushing Danielle Staub's husband, Marty, into a pool during a party before uttering her most iconic one-liner yet, "Your husband's in the pool!"
"One of the best moments, I thought, was Margaret, who I also love, throwing Danielle's husband in the pool, and I'm like 'I have a pool here. It's funny, because it's not even open, you know? It's cold out, but I'm going to put this little dress on. I'm so bored, let me put some kombucha in my wine glass and make Kier's dad walk with me, and I'm going to make Kier direct it,'" Leah recalled of the origin of her TikToks. "It's about being creative and having fun, and they're just fun to recreate."
