Your favorite celebrities are playing Animal Crossing in quarantine
Since its release on March 20, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has taken the gaming world by storm. However, it’s not just hardcore gamers who are growing fruit trees and donating to their museums; amid quarantine, even celebrities have become addicted to virtual island life.
Even before the game’s release, stars like Brie Larson and Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus were talking about how excited they were to get their hands on it.

“Ommmgggg,” Larson wrote in response to photos of the Nintendo Switch console inspired by the game back in January.

Meanwhile, when a fan asked what new game he was looking forward to back in 2019, Hoppus responded, “I want Animal Crossing for Switch.”
Now that the game is out, other celebrities like Guy Fieri have been sharing island updates via social media.

“I’m here on Flavortown Island checkin’ out a joint run by local legend, Tom Nook!” Fieri wrote on Instagram on April 14 alongside a photo of his lookalike Animal Crossing character. “Unlike the homes around here, you won’t have to take out a loan to afford these dishes.”
Though many A-listers play the Nintendo Switch game, perhaps the most vocal celebrity Animal Crossing fan is Chrissy Teigen.
During Bunny Day — Animal Crossing’s version of Easter — Teigen was very vocal about her hatred of Zipper, the creepy bunny.
Thank GOD, I hated zipper and was tired of catching eggs with fish shadows https://t.co/4FsbJHssFY

She also loves to joke about the scam artist that is Tom Nook.
congrats on paying off your animal crossing house loan of 20,000 bells!!! the next one will be 86 million

Don’t expect to visit Teigen’s island, though. As she’s made abundantly clear, she prefers to fly solo.
I don’t like visiting other people’s islands or inviting people to mine. I honestly don’t really get or care for the switch friend code thing. is anyone else like this? am i really missing out? I just like to fish, shake trees and make money
