Matthew Broderick’s sister tests positive for coronavirus

The sister of actor Matthew Broderick has tested positive for coronavirus, her California parish announced.

Janet Broderick, 64, was hospitalized this week after she became sick following a recent visit to a conference in Kentucky, according to an announcement shared by All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills, where she is a rector.

“Janet’s current condition is stable, and she is being treated for a severe form of pneumonia,” the parish said Wednesday. “She is receiving the best medical care available and her doctors’ prognosis is for a complete and full recovery.”

She is being treated at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, where she tested positive for the virus.

Janet had attended the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes event in Louisville last month. A pastor from Washington, D.C., who was recently diagnosed with coronavirus also attended the conference.

In a letter shared by the parish, Janet shared her gratitude for everyone who has supported and prayed for her.

“I am through the worst of this and very very much on the mend,” she wrote.

Matthew Broderick, 57, has not publicly commented on the situation.
