'Bachelor' contestant's hand sparks speculation: 'Does it bother anyone else?'

On Monday night, the penultimate episode of Peter Weber’s “Bachelor” season aired, and it was certifiably nuts.

Aside from Pilot Pete’s mom sobbing over contestant Hannah Ann Sluss being an “angel on earth” and urging her son to “bring her home to us” as though the family was part of a cult, the second of the two remaining contestants — 23-year-old Madison Prewett — literally walked off the show.

However, shortly before Prewett dipped, viewers were able to catch a glimpse of what appeared to be a bit of writing on her left hand — and fans really wanted to know what it said.

Many took to Twitter to speculate, with one user guessing the mysterious ink might be a message scrawled in sharpie. Another posited that it might be a bar entry stamp.

Others were simply mad they could not figure out what, exactly, the secretive writing said.

A later shot of Prewett’s hand reveals that part of the writing says “Proverbs,” a book of the Old Testament — a clear nod to the contestant’s Christian faith, which she has openly expressed on the show, including her staunch opposition of premarital sex.

The word is seemingly followed by numbers, which remain difficult to read throughout the scene. However, it appears that Prewett, who works as a foster parent recruiter, has “Proverbs 31:8” written in her Instagram bio. Her chosen verse reads, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”

The rest of Prewett’s bio echoes the verse, stating, “Love greatly, be a voice for the voiceless, and always stand up for what you believe in.”

In photos taken earlier this season, Prewett’s left hand appears free of any ink — leading us to believe she may have written the message on her hand as a reminder of her beliefs.
