Jimmy Fallon kissed Michael Jordan on the lips in ‘very awkward run-in’

Jimmy Fallon once had an...uncomfortable slam dunk with one of basketball’s greatest.

“I had a very awkward run-in with Michael Jordan," Fallon, 45, revealed of his fellow New Yorker on Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” web series Monday. "I was at a golf charity event with [Derek] Jeter. So I was playing with those guys, playing with Jordan. We were at some night club at the end of the night or something like that and Derek’s like, ‘Jimmy, you know Michael?’ I go, ‘Yeah, I know you.’ I went to say, ‘What’s up?’ and I went to like, kind of, I don’t know, give him a kiss on the cheek.

“He wanted to give me a kiss on this cheek,” he recalled, pointing to his right cheek as he reenacted the encounter. “And we both ... kissed on the lips, and ... I thought I was going to die. I thought ... ‘He could just kill me right now.’”

“Did he play it cool?" host Joe La Puma asked.

“He grabbed me and he goes, ‘It’s OK,’" the “Tonight Show” host recalled. “And I was like, ‘All right, I’m not going to bring it up. This is awkward, I’m going to go home. I messed up, I kissed Michael Jordan on the lips.' ... They don’t even have to warn people, ‘By the way, everybody, don’t kiss Michael Jordan on the lips.’ Like, no one even says that. It’s not on the list of anything. But this idiot shows up, and I go, ‘What am I even doing? What an idiot.’”

“So I was like, ‘Well, that was it.’ And I saw him a couple of months ago at a restaurant," said of the 57-year-old

“You bring it up?” La Puma asked.

“No, but we kind of had a look like we knew ... He knows who I am,” Fallon laughed, joking. “Great kisser.”
