Thursday’s with Fern
#becomingSheila back in the saddle again. Thank you to all the experts who helped me get here. It's no wonder I don't want to deal with all that being a lady entails sometimes. I'm a mom. I work like crazy. And the first thing to go is usually yourself. I love this job because it forces me to put back into myself, even if it's really for someone else like Sheila. I feel so grateful to have a job I love. I know how lucky I am and I never take it for granted. Period. Becoming her took weeks and weeks. It gets harder the older you get. But working hard is always worth it. Ok. Time to be cool. Because I'm usually not. But she is. So I will be. You know... fake it til you make it. But don't ever stop short!!!!!!! #santaclaritadiet

#holidayawareweek @aspca this is my Douglas. He is a rescue from the San Fernando Valley. With all fires and floods and tragedy that have changed the lives of people overnight in our country, many people have pets that are family members as well. Animals need us too. I am putting this in here because I support this amazing organization and they need all the resources they can get, from a year of such difficulty and overwhelming disasters. Please give any time or money you can give to help take care of our pets. They take care of us right back!

The love of my life. Olive. Sunday. Thanksgiving weekend. I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. This is a very special time. And may it bring out the best in all of us. And all the spirit of family and loved ones. I never knew I could love so much. I never knew I would be so lucky one day to be a mom. Thank you to all our many blessings for our family. Haters gonna hate. Yesterday I saw comments on my Instagram feed about my post that were mean, cruel, and ugly. It hurt me. And you know what women do when they get hurt???? They pick themselves up! Go get a haircut. Put on some lipstick and chant “if you don’t have something nice to say... don’t say anything at all” thank you @markishkreli @yumi_mori for picking a girl up and dusting her off. And more than anything, helping me feel pretty. Pretty is on the inside. But a little love on the outside never hurts. #thisfeedisforlovers

"We have known each other for about 15 years and when I told her I wanted to transform my body for #SANTACLARITADIET she helped me," she continued of her Netflix series, which ran from 2017 to 2019. "Every spring, when I would start training to become #SHEILAHAMMOND Marnie was the one who got me there. I lost 20 pounds and trained like a mother."

Barry, who shares two children, Olive, 7, and Frankie, 5, with her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, went on to write about what made Alton a great friend and resource throughout her fitness journey.

"We hope the people in the wellness world are actually healthy in their hearts and minds. It’s not all about being terminators! It’s about how to find yourself. How to be your best self," Barrymore continued. "But we need guidance and we hope our teachers are smart and wise and sane! Marnie is one of the greats. Period. And if your [sic] looking for a life change or to find your consistent tribe, she is where I found mine."

Barrymore has previously opened up about working to lose weight for Santa Clarita Diet, on which she played a flesh-eating zombie. During an appearance on the Today show in 2018, she explained, "If a woman was really eating just protein and nothing else she would lose weight."

"It gave me this intense responsibility that I said I want to fulfill to be Sheila and then there was like no excuses," she said of her character.
