Demi Lovato set to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LIV

Demi Lovato will sing the national anthem at next month's Super Bowl LIV.

The singer announced the news on social media on Thursday morning, a little over two weeks before this year's Super Bowl is set to take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, on Sunday, Feb. 2.

"Singing the National Anthem at #SBLIV," she captioned a photo of herself. "See you in Miami."

While Lovato hasn't performed live since 2018, her Super Bowl performance won't be her first big moment back on stage: Earlier this week, the singer revealed that she'll also be performing at this year's Grammy Awards, which will air live on Sunday, Jan. 26.

The Disney alum joins Jennifer Lopez and Shakira as the third high-profile Latina pop star to be playing a big role in this year's Super Bowl. They were announced as the co-headliners of the Pepsi Halftime Show this past fall.

Lovato follows in the footsteps of Gladys Knight, who sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" ahead of the 2019 Super Bowl, and Pink, who landed the high-pressure gig in 2018.

2020 represents a comeback year for the "Cool for the Summer" hitmaker, who was hospitalized in July 2018 after suffering a drug overdose at her Los Angeles home. She hasn't released new music since "Sober," which she released the month prior.
