'Family Feud' contestant wins $10,000 prize for outrageous wrong answer: 'Oh my god'

A "Family Feud" contestant who went viral after her wrong answer cost her $10,000 is now getting a chance at redemption — in the form of a massive supply of free food.

Eve Dubois made the crucial mistake while appearing on an episode of "Family Feud Canada" last Thursday. The video of her wrong answer, which has since been viewed more than 1.3 million times, shows host Gerry Dee asking a sort of "sudden death"-style question.

"Real simple. There's one question. Only one answer. Whoever gets it, you're playing for $10,000. That's it. Whoever guesses this wins the game," Dee says, before asking the question. "Name Popeye's favorite food."

Dubois buzzes in almost immediately, giving her answer with full confidence and a confident, shimmy-type dance.

"Chicken," she tells Dee enthusiastically.

Dee, who apparently believed the question was referring to the fast food chain, as opposed to the famous, spinach-loving cartoon character, left Dee buckled over with laughter. Her family members can be heard in the background gasping, as one even exclaims, "Oh my god."

Dubois' hilarious mix-up cost her the $10,000 prize, as her opponent ultimately buzzed in with the correct answer. But the resulting viral video seemed to pay off in the end.

On Friday, Popeyes Chicken retweeted a video of Dubois' performance, tagging her in the message and asking her to contact them so they could give her a consolation prize — $10,000 worth of the chicken that was so clearly on her mind.

"Our survey says you got that right. DM us to claim your $10,000 worth of Popeyes. #LoveThatChickenFromPopeye," the restaurant chain tweeted.

It's unclear whether or not Dubois has redeemed her prize yet, but she'll be in for quite the treat when she does. Grub Street did some math the $10,000 prize, and found that it would be enough to purchase 1,920 chicken sandwiches — or if she's feeling generous, 589 eight-piece chicken family dinners.

The offer comes after a year of constant headlines for Popeyes, as the company launched its now-beloved chicken sandwich, which immediately became a viral sensation and spawned an epic social media war with Chik-fil-A.
