Patricia Arquette accidentally hit Joey King in the head with her Golden Globe and left a brutal bruise

Updated

Joey King and Patricia Arquette appeared to have gotten a little carried away at the Golden Globes after-parties on Sunday night.

The actresses hit various bashes together after Arquette won an award for her work on Hulu's "The Act," on which she co-starred with King. They clearly hit it off on set and have carried that friendship beyond the show, having a ball posing together on after-party red carpets, with Arquette wearing a plastic Viking hat as she hugged King for photographers.

Inside the Warner Bros. party with InStyle, King and Arquette took part in the party's annual elevator photobooth, and as the doors closed on the short clip, Arquette's Golden Globe seemingly strikes King directly on her forehead.

The morning after the party, King took to Twitter to reveal that her collision with Arquette's statue left her with a bruise smack dab in the middle of her face.

"Patricia Arquette accidentally hit me in the head with her Golden Globe," she captioned the dueling selfies. "That sentence will give me bragging rights for the rest of my life."

Arquette quickly responded to King's photos with a quippy tweet, saying, "What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator! No seriously I’m so sorry sweetest one!"

And there you have it — no bad blood between the stars of "The Act" after their after-party whoops. Just more memories together!
