Matt Lauer spotted on vacation with rumored new girlfriend: 'They're a full-fledged item'

Matt Lauer seemingly has a new lady in his life.

The 62-year-old former "Today" show anchor was photographed on a bike ride in New Zealand over the holidays with rumored new girlfriend Shamin Abas.

In photos published exclusively by Radar Online, Lauer and Abas can be seen enjoying the outdoors together near his beloved $9.2 million New Zealand compound, which he was reportedly at risk of losing during his public scandal.

InTouch was the first to report that Lauer and Abas's longtime friendship had turned into something more, revealing earlier this week that the disgraced TV personality has known his new public relations executive girlfriend for at least 15 years.

"Obviously one thing led to another, and they're a full-fledged item now," a source told the outlet.

Despite many of Lauer's friends having "turned their backs on him" following his sexual misconduct scandal that got him fired from NBC, Sabas "knows who he is," the source said, and is "thrilled she's with him. She doesn't seem to have a care in the world."

It's worth pointing out that Sabas bears such a resemblance to Lauer's ex-wife, Annette Roque, that "some people thought it was Annette" when Sabas was spotted boarding a flight out of New Jersey to New Zealand with Lauer.

Roque filed for divorce from Lauer back in 2017, and the former couple finalized their divorce this past September. They share children Jack, 18, Romy, 16, and Thijs, 13.
