'DWTS' alum Karina Smirnoff reveals she's pregnant with first child, keeps mum on father's identity

Karina Smirnoff is waltzing into motherhood!

The former "Dancing With the Stars" pro, 41, revealed this week that she's expecting her very first child: "I've always wanted to be a mom," she told People. "I have so many emotions that I’m going through. I’m nervous, excited, over the moon happy and overwhelmed."

Smirnoff has opted to stay mum on the paternal lineage of the baby. Some of her relationships have been more public than others; she was previously engaged to fellow "DWTS" competitor Maksim Chmerkovskiy, and she's also been engaged to former MLB pitcher Brad Penny and businessman Jason Adelman. (Chmerkovskiy is now married to Peta Murgatroyd, who is also a "DWTS" pro dancer.)

"Everyone has been so great, gracious and has given me so much information," she continued in her statement to People. "I’m just trying to keep up! But I’m very grateful for the gift I’ve been given.

She added, "I can’t wait to be a mom."

Smirnoff was a "DWTS" fan favorite who took home the famed Mirror Ball Trophy for season 13. She appeared on an incredibly 18 seasons of the show, most recently dancing alongside celebrity partner Doug Flutie in 2016.
