Mariah Carey's team tipped $0 on recent $500 meal in New Jersey: report

Mariah Carey may be the Queen of Christmas, but it appears some of her staffers don't subscribe to the spirit of giving, according to Page Six.

The night of her Dec. 7 show in Atlantic City, Carey placed a dinner order for $493.67 at a restaurant that's inside the same hotel as her performance. In other words, her staff member didn't even have to leave the building to pick up the meal — but upon receiving it, he or she paid $500 in cash, asked for the remaining $6.33 in change and didn't leave a tip.

The executive chef of Roberts Steakhouse, Will Savarese, had "prepared the meal with extra attention to make sure everything was perfect for the notoriously finnicky pop star," an insider told Page Six. A receipt obtained by the outlet listed items including lobster tail, crab cakes, strip steak, roast chicken and salmon.

Roberts Steakhouse is located inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, where Carey performed a sold-out show on her "All I Want for Christmas Is You" tour.

It's unclear whether the food was intended for Carey or if it was a group order for her employees.

Back in 2016, the pop star made headlines upon revealing that she essentially only ate two items every single day. "It's really hard. My diet, you would hate it," she told E! News. "All you eat is Norwegian salmon and capers every day. That's it."

And no, she wasn't joking: "I'm actually serious. I try to stick with the proteins. It's the worst."
