William Shatner files for divorce after 18 years of marriage

William Shatner and wife Elizabeth are getting a divorce.

The "Star Trek" actor, 88, filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage, TMZ reports. The couple, who got married back in 2001, reportedly signed a prenup, which the outlet says will make their divorce move "relatively smoothly." They didn't have any children together.

While William and Elizabeth, 61, are "still negotiating the financial terms," per their prenup, they've reportedly already agreed not to pay one another spousal support.

This is the fourth time that the actor, who is worth a reported $100 million, has been married. He was married to Gloria Rand from 1956 until 1969, Marcy Lafferty from 1973 until 1996 and Nerine Kidd from 1997 until 1999, when Kidd died of what was ruled an accidental drowning. Shatner has three daughters from his marriage with Rand: Leslie, Lisabeth and Melanie.

William Shatner is being represented by well-known Hollywood divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, in the split.
