2019 Gotham Awards: Jennifer Lopez, Keke Palmer, Olivia Wilde and more red carpet arrivals

Look alive: Christmas is fast approaching, which means we're barreling right into awards season.

We have a month to go until the Golden Globes, but Monday night's Gotham Awards in New York City were an early indicator of what's ahead. There's no question that it will be an eventful few months for Netflix's "Marriage Story" and its leading man Adam Driver, who at this point is a shoo-in for a Best Actor nomination at both the Oscars and Golden Globes.

On the red carpet were some of the buzziest names of the year: "Booksmart" director Olivia Wilde looked angelic in a white A-line gown as she entered the ceremony alongside beau Jason Sudeikis, who's rocking a thick mustache these days. Meanwhile, both Jennifer Lopez and her "Hustlers" co-star Keke Palmer delivered show-stopping looks in black feathers, one of the season's biggest up-and-coming trends.

More bold fashion choices came from Elisabeth Moss, who rebuffed the freezing temperatures with a plunging neckline, and Awkwafina, who wore a carefully-detailed nude gown and took home the award for Best Actress for her starring role in "The Farewell."

For the men, blue was the color of the evening as Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Willem Dafoe and "Succession" star Nicholas Braun all donned cobalt suits.

It remains to be seen which famous faces will snag Golden Globe and Oscar nominations, but those answers are soon forthcoming: The Globes reveal their nominations on Monday, Dec. 9, and the Academy Awards follow suit in mid-January.
