Hoda Kotb is engaged!

The "Today" show co-anchor announced on Monday morning's episode of the NBC morning show that longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman had popped the question during a recent vacation.

"Literally we went on our usual vacation. We ended up having a little dinner on the beach and were done with the dinner," Kotb, 55, told her stunned co-hosts. "I was eating the churros, licking the bowl … he said some beautiful things and got down on one knee and said, 'Will you be my wife?'"

The official "Today" show Instagram account posted a photo of the newly-engaged couple seemingly from the dinner where Schiffman, 61, asked Kotb to marry him, and they are all smiles as Kotb points to her new ring. In a second photo, "HODA AND JOEL," is written in the sand and sprinkled with rose petals.

Kotb said on "Today" that her "heart has literally been pounding" since her financier boyfriend proposed.

"I was totally shocked," she said. "He had a good poker face."

Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman have been dating since 2013 and share two adopted daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine. The television host famously kept Schiffman's identity under wraps for years, but has become very open about their relationship in recent years.

As for whether or not they've informed their young daughters that they're getting married, Kotb said that they'll get there.

"We’re still trying to figure out that part," she smiled.
