Disney confirmed Wednesday that actor Adam Lamberg, who played Gordo on the 2001 teen series "Lizzie McGuire," will reprise his role for the upcoming Disney+ revival. (You can get a free one-week Disney+ trial right here.)

“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original 'Lizzie McGuire' so authentic and beloved,” Hilary Duff said in a statement. “I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”

When we last saw Gordo, he and childhood best friend Lizzie had just (finally!) smooched during their class trip to Rome in "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." The romantic development wasn't really folded into final season of the show, leaving plenty of room for speculation about how the 2020 revival will approach the characters' shared history: Did they date? Did they pretend the kiss never happened? Did they tell ever even tell fellow best friend Miranda, who rounded out their trio, what happened in Italy?!

Speaking of Miranda, it remains unclear whether actress Lalaine will join the reboot. She did not appear in the 2003 film, and the behind-the-scenes explanation was never made public.

Lamberg, 35, has largely stayed away from the spotlight since his Disney Channel days, but that hiatus is clearly coming to an end! Watch Hilary Duff and Adam Lamberg break the exciting news in the video below.
