Keanu Reeves has been dating rumored new girlfriend Alexandra Grant 'for years': report

Did Keanu Reeves just publicly confirm a new romance for the first time in two decades?

That's surely what most of the internet thinks after the "Matrix" actor, 55, attended Saturday's 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala hand-in-hand with longtime collaborator and business partner, Alexandra Grant, 46.

The rumored couple was all smiles as they posed alongside one another for photographers on the red carpet and held hands as they walked into the star-studded event together. Inside the gala, an eyewitness described the pair as "smiling and having a good time" to ET, and noted that they spent time chatting with Will Ferrell and his wife, Viveca Paulin-Ferrell.

While not confirmed by Reeves or Grant, sources close to the couple told Us Weekly after their outing that the pair has "been dating for years."

"It wasn't a secret," the insider added. "They have been dating since at least summer of 2017."

Prior to their relationship reportedly becoming romantic, Grant and Reeves collaborated on two books, the first of which came out in 2011, and they also co-founded X Artists' Books together in 2017. The publishing house publishes "thoughtful, high-quality, artist-centered books that fit within and between genres."

"Some people are kind of dreamers who have a lot of ideas but don’t like to get things done," Grant told Los Angeles Magazine in 2018 about their working relationship. "I think we both like to have the idea and get it into the world."

Notably, Reeves hasn't publicly confirmed being in a relationship since 1999, when he and Jennifer Syme broke up after their daughter, Ava, was stillborn at eight months. Syme died two years later in 2001.

People reports that the rumored couple was spotted having a three-hour dinner at Santa Monica hot-spot Giorgio Baldi in October. Back in June, Reeves and Grant also attended the Saint Laurent men's fashion show together in Malibu, where they also posed together while holding hands.

While their relationship is up in the air, Grant and Reeves' artistic collaboration has clearly been fruitful over the years -- and no wonder. While the "John Wick" actor's accolades as an actor are well-known, Grant has also established herself as an accomplished artist in her own right.

Since getting a Bachelor of Arts in History and Studio Art at Swarthmore College, Grant then got her Masters of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting from the California College of Arts and Crafts. ET reports that she has had her work exhibited everywhere from Paris to New York and she's also the founder of a charitable organization called the grantLOVE project.
