Andy Cohen reveals the simple change he made to lose 12 pounds in recent months

Andy Cohen is looking slimmer these days, and it's not just because he's been keeping up with a newborn.

During a recent conversation with Hoda Kotb on the "Today" show, Cohen revealed he hasn't had an alcoholic drink since mid-July — a particularly impressive feat given that his nightly show, "Watch What Happens Live," features a stocked bar right in the middle of the set.

So far, he's "lost 12 pounds, and I've just been really watching what I'm eating," Cohen said.

Cohen started to re-evaluate his food and drink intake mid-summer when he realized he'd become self-conscious about going to the beach: "I really felt like my suits were getting tight, and it was beach season and I was wearing, like, button downs to the beach. And I'm, like, I'm not this guy, I'm not doing this."

Becoming a first-time dad, of course, also factors into Cohen's healthy choices. The talk show host welcomed baby Benjamin via surrogate in February.

During a previous conversation with Kotb, back in September, Cohen hinted that a second child could be around the corner after Kotb joked that they could set up their babies.

"Yes, he needs a girlfriend, and he needs a sibling,'' Cohen said. "I think maybe he does. I'm taking it one step at a time."
