Seth Meyers's new Netflix comedy special will let you skip Trump jokes

Seth Meyers is doing a favor for everyone who is tired of jokes about President Trump.

The comedian's new Netflix comedy special, "Lobby Baby," which debuts on Nov. 5, will have a button for viewers to opt out of watching segments with punch lines about Trump.

Meyers specifically asked Netflix to allow viewers to be able to skip the bits in the same way Netflix users can click the "skip intro" button at the beginning of some of its content.

"It dawned on me that because it was on Netflix, there would be this opportunity to put in technology that would allow people to skip it," he said in an interview with CNN. "It was a way to build in the response to anyone who would say, 'Oh, let me guess, there's going to be jokes about the president.'"

Robbie Praw, Netflix's director of original standup comedy programming, told CNN the company is "thrilled he was able to take advantage of the Netflix experience in such a funny and innovative way."

The "Late Night" host is no stranger to taking jabs at the president. He often criticizes Trump on his show, but Meyers said he isn't tired of politics yet.

"I'm burned out from some politicians," he said. "But, I'm not burned out on politics."

Despite including the skip button, Meyers doesn't think viewers will actually use it. He referred to it as another "joke in the special."

"I think, look, sometimes at a fancy restaurant they'll put parsley on your plate and you'll think, well, that's a nice touch, but you're not going to eat the parsley." he joked.
