Actress Niecy Nash announces split from Jay Tucker after 8 years of marriage

Former “Clean House” host Niecy Nash is starting with a clean relationship slate.

The “Claws” actress, 43, announced her split from husband Jay Tucker late Wednesday in a social media post.

“We believe in the beauty of truth. Always have. Our truth is that in this season of our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage. Our union was such a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share — present tense," a social media post signed from Nash and Tucker said.

“Thank you for all your support of us as a couple over the last eight years. We are grateful," the message read.

Five months ago on her Instagram, Nash had shared that their secret to staying together for eight years was separate bathrooms — but Nash’s announcement Wednesday shows not even separate havens may be enough to maintain a marriage.

The couple first met on Sept. 4, 2009, according to a former Instagram post from Nash. A year later, Tucker, who works as an electrical engineer, proposed to Nash.

Nash and Tucker married on May 28, 2011, in an outdoor ceremony in Malibu, Calif.

Tucker is Nash’s second marriage. She was previously married from 1994 to 2007 to Don Nash, whom she had three children with.

The morning following the announcement of her split from Tucker, Nash shared a picture of her spending the morning on the beach.

Clad in pink workout gear, Nash stood on one leg in front of the water, with her hands together at her chest.

“Namaste,” text on the picture read.
