Howard Stern surprises his wife with a re-marriage proposal on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Who knew Howard Stern was such a romantic?

He's known more for shock than sweet sentiment, but Stern's wife, Beth, certainly brings out the best in him. So much so that during an appearance this week on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," he decided to pop the question — again.

"Honey, come up here," Stern suddenly said during his interview with Kimmel. "I want to propose."

The unexpected moment came after Stern, 65, explained that he's long wanted to renew his vows with his wife of 11 years. The couple has been together for two decades.

“Darling, you know you have given me the best years of my life. I love you so much," he said after Beth walked onstage. "You do so much for animal rescue. You know how I feel about you."

He continued, "I’m gonna say to you now in front of all of my best friends, my sweet love, will you marry me again?"

Kimmel looked both amused and moved as Beth offered the affirmative "yes." He and Stern are longtime close friends, and he listens to Stern's SiriusXM show every morning: Stern's is "the first voice I hear when I wake up that isn't screaming, 'Daddy, make me pancakes.'"

The couple began dating after Stern split from his first wife, with whom he shares three daughters. Although they don't have children together, they have a full house: Throughout their relationship, they've fostered about 900 cats, and at any given time they usually have about a dozen in their New York City home.
