Drake responds to dad's claims that he lied about their relationship: 'My father will say anything'

Drake has just responded to some serious accusations his father made about the truth - or lack thereof - behind his lyrics.

Drake's father, Dennis Graham, recently sat down for an interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106. Although Drake and his father appear to be close in present times, Drake has previously described the lack of relationship he had with his father growing up at length, in both lyrics and interviews. Shortly into Dennis' interview, Cannon asked what it was like to become close with his son despite his absence in earlier years. Graham responded, "I have always been with Drake... I said, Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me, man? This is not cool. And he goes 'Dad, it sells records." Hear the full exchange below:

This is not the first time Drake's father has alleged the rapper embellished the truth for record sales, and Drake did not take kindly to it this time. He responded to his father's accusations with an Instagram story, reading:

"Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that's willing to listen to him. It's sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that's the people we are stuck with... every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept."
