‘Bachelor’ star Peter Weber hospitalized after suffering golf injury during filming

Bachelor lead Peter Weber was sent to the hospital following a face injury he suffered while playing golf on Monday, October 7. The ABC star has been in Costa Rica where he is scheduled to film season 24 of the series.

According to a RadarOnline.com, the 28-year-old was boozing on the golf course and went to step into a cart when he fell and split open his face. He sliced his face on two cocktail glasses he was carrying as he stepped into the vehicle.

He received 22 stitches on his forehead after a two-hour drive to a hospital in San Jose. The former Bachelorette hopeful underwent surgery once he arrived at the medical center. The hospital had a surgeon that specialized in his type of injuries.

The cast of the show had been filming in the tropical paradise and the contestants were flying in on October 8 to shoot from Ohio. Crew members are worried how Peter's injury will affect the show's production. Thirty-three women have been chosen to compete for Peter’s love.

Peter's edition of the Bachelor is set to premiere sometime in 2020. The Delta Airlines pilot was announced as the new lead in September 2019. The California native  beat out rumored frontrunner Mike Johnson and Tyler Cameron.

In 2019, Peter was cast in season 15 of the Bachelorette, starring Hannah Brown. She caught massive heat for admitting that she and Peter had sex four times in a windmill on their fantasy suite date.

He also saw himself in the middle of controversy when he was accused of dumping his girlfriend, Cale Lutes, to star on the Bachelorette. His explained that they had been together for six months before he broke off their relationship abruptly around Christmas. He went on the show soon after.

On September 25, Peter fell ill when he was on a group date during filming. Reality Steve tweeted the news and wrote, “As today's group date audience was set to file [into] the @AvalonHollywood, they announced that Peter was very sick and the group date was [canceled]...Sounds like it was food poisoning." Peter was able to recover at his own home since he is the first Bachelor to live within close distance to the show's famous mansion.
