Princess Beatrice is "head over heels" in love -- and now she's engaged!

Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter is engaged to be married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and we're breaking down everything you need to know about the multi-millionaire tycoon.

The British royal only started dating her new fiancé last fall, but the couple has actually known one another for years as family friends.

Edoardo's stepdad was Christopher Shale, who died at the 2011 Glastonbury music festival of natural causes at the age of 56 and was a friend of then-Prime Minister David Cameron, as well as Prince Andrew and Fergie. Beatrice has known his family well for years, and attended Shale's funeral seven years before her friendship with his stepson, Edoardo, turned romantic.

Beatrice, 30, reportedly started to introduce Edoardo, 34, as her boyfriend at a slew of private parties in the fall. In December 2018, the couple attended their first public event together at the New York Public Library, where the mingled with a bevy of A-listers including Karlie Kloss and Wendi Deng, though they were not photographed together at the soirée.

In March, they made their official public debut at the National Portrait Gallery, where they posed for photos together. Two months later, Edoardo accompanied Beatrice to Lady Gabriella Windsor's picturesque wedding at St. George's Chapel inside Windsor Castle. Considering that a majority of the royal family was there, it was a telling sign that things are very serious between the couple.

"She’s completely head over heels," a source told People about Beatrice and her romance.

It's worth noting, of course, that Mozzi has been married once before and has a young son, Wolfie, from that marriage.

As far as his career goes, he's been incredibly successful: He's the multi-millionaire CEO to property developing company Banda Property, which specializes in finding properties discreetly for wealthy clients.

Beatrice's newfound love follows her 2016 split from longtime boyfriend, Dave Clark, who she was introduced to by her cousin, Prince William. Her sister, Princess Eugenie, married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, and Beatrice was her maid of honor.
