Lilly Singh mocks NBC’s new streaming service …. on NBC: ‘Peacock is an insane name’ (video)

Less than two weeks after her late night NBC show debuted, Lilly Singh has already found something NBC-related to make fun of: the network’s upcoming “Peacock” streaming service.

“Now, I’m part of the NBC family, but I gotta say, Peacock is an insane name for a streaming service,” Singh joked on her new show, “A Little Late With Lilly Singh,” which aired in the very early hours Thursday.

“I guess it’s a good thing they didn’t call it Peagina or Peavulva,” she added.

NBC recently revealed that Peacock will be available next April, but a price point was not shared. Peacock will feature reboots of TV series “Battlestar Galactica,” “Saved By the Bell” and “Punky Brewster,” along with new comedies from Mike Schur, Rashida Jones and an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World.” An “SNL” docuseries from Lorne Michaels, a Jimmy Fallon talk show, a late night series with “Late Night’s” Amber Ruffin, and another “Real Housewives” spinoff are also coming to the service. Peacock will also house a content library that includes former NBC sitcoms “The Office,” “Parks & Recreation,” “30 Rock,” “Cheers” and “Frasier.”

Singh didn’t just clown on her new corporate overlords, though. She brought up Tinder’s original content plans and said it “actually makes sense,” since scrolling through shows is kind of like being on the dating app: “I’m not really interested in any of you on here. I’m just lonely.”

She then joked that there are too many streaming services to pick from now — and you can tell by just looking at their names.

“We’re straight up running out of names at this point,” Singh said, “Check this out: Hulu, Quibi, Fubo, Philo. Like, every name sounds like someone in a heist movie had to give a fake name under pressure.”
