One dead, seven injured after country singer Josh Turner’s tour bus crashes in California

A tour bus carrying country singer Josh Turner’s crew crashed off a California highway late Wednesday night, killing one passenger.

Seven people were injured, including two with major injuries, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Five suffered “moderate” injuries.

Officials said Turner and his band were traveling in a separate bus, which was not involved in the crash.

It’s still unclear why the bus crashed, but California Highway Patrol told KSBY that the bus driver veered off the road, then drove 20 yards through grass and off an 80-foot cliff.

Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as a cause of the accident.

A witness told KSBY that they didn’t see any brake lights from the bus before it went off the road.

According to his tour schedule, Turner was performing in Paso Robles Wednesday night before the crash.
