Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello make out in viral Instagram: 'How we really kiss'

Shutting down the haters?

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello took to Instagram to react to people online making fun of the way that they make-out in public, as evidenced by the multiple PDA-filled paparazzi shots that have surfaced since they first started hooking up earlier this year.

"So we saw on Twitter and stuff you guys saying stuff about the way were kissing and how it looks weird, like we kiss like fish," Mendes says in the close-up video, which is location tagged to Mexico, before Cabello adds, "It really hurts our feelings."

"We just want to show you how we really kiss," Mendes finishes in the video, before he moves in to kiss his former Fifth Harmony star girlfriend in an extremely exaggerated, tongue-heavy make-out session that ends in her pulling away from him as they burst into laughter.

Celebrity friends were quick to react to the video, with Charlie Puth writing, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAH," and Niall Horan reacting with a slew of laughing face emojis. Bazzi told them that they had "incredible form," and Julia Michaels also commented with a bunch of "haha's."

OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder had some hilariously stern advice for Mendes, however, "Dude stop messing around and MAKE HER GUACAMOLE. Ur in Mexico for Gods sakes u have everything u need."

Earlier this month, Cabello said in an interview on SiriusXM radio's Hits1 that "if you're smooching, you gotta smooch like you're in a rom-com."

"What do you want to smooch like you're in a boring drama?" she laughed.

Mendes and Cabello have long been friends, but their relationship took a romantic turn earlier this year, with the couple going public following the June release of their No. 1 hit, "Señorita." In the months since, they've been photographed holding hands and kissing in public on multiple occasions.

In August, they performed their duet together on the MTV VMAs, putting on a steamy performance and teasing the audience without ever actually locking lips.
